Overview

What is the M.Sc. Horticulture Programme?

The Master of Science (Agri.) in Horticulture is a high-value specialization dealing with the intense cultivation of fruits, vegetables, flowers, spices, and plantation crops. Unlike general agronomy, horticulture focuses heavily on commercial, high-profit crops, aesthetic landscaping, and the crucial post-harvest processing of perishable foods. Our curriculum heavily leverages the university's advanced Polyhouses and Greenhouses. Students learn climate-controlled farming, hydroponics, genetic breeding of fruits, and advanced orchard management. The second year mandates an independent research thesis where students must develop, test, or optimize a specific horticultural crop variety or farming technique.
